So, I initially set out to do a German tasting that was a wider range of grapes from Germany. And yet somehow I ended up doing 4 Rieslings. Sometimes things just shake out kinda weird. That being said, there’s actually a pretty good variation on the Rieslings, themselves. From dry to sweet and from Mosel to Rheingau, it’s a little bit of everything. I didn’t do any of the dessert style Rieslings, like auslese and trockenbeerenauslese and stuff like that, but this is a good cross-section of non-dessert style drinking wine from Germany.
Now, if only I could get Dirk to come in and do a few German wine tastings with us. Maybe he’ll come in October when we do our Oktoberfest food, beer and wine. Cross your fingers.
