Memorial Day

We spent Memorial Day weekend insulating and organizing our wine closet — over 600 bottles of good stuff!  Also met my exercise requirements hauling nice heavy bottles out and back into the closet (or so I’m telling  myself).

We are featuring a double house-made entree this weekend — our own Ricotta Cheese in our own Gnocchi…with Shrimp Tossed in Tomato Cream Sauce and then Baked with a Crunchy Topping.  The kitchen tried this a few times (yes, only once would have sufficed, but why not try it several times?) and it is absolutely delicious.  Friday & Saturday evening after 5.
Fourth Anniversary Dinner — Five Courses with Optional Wine Pairing; Saturday June 6th with seating from 5:00 p.m. top 9:00 p.m.   Jan Ryberg will be serenading us while we enjoy the evening.  Reservations only — 817-281-9500.  Menu & wine list on our web page:

4th Anniversary Wine Flight

Here is the optional wine flight for the 4th Anniversary Dinner on Saturday June 6th, 2015.

Each wine pairs with the corresponding course.

It will be delicious, as always.

Parmesan Chicken Breast

Make way for ducklings! We have two (nearly pet) ducks that have been playing in the puddles in our parking lot! If you’ve been ankle-deep in water in your yard, join the club in wondering if your lush spring foliage will give up the ghost to perpetually wet feet. But for those fishermen out there, the area lakes are mostly back to where they need to be — my next door neighbor is happy as a clam dragging his boat out almost every morning. He says they’re nearly jumping into the boat!

This weekend (Friday/Saturday evenings after 5 p.m.), we are serving up Parmesan-Crusted Chicken Breast filled with our own Basil Pesto accompanied by Sweet Potato Mashers and Sauteed Green Beans. That’ll make you forget fish!

Still have room for our Saturday, June 6th Anniversary Dinner — menu’s on our website at It promises to be a fun and delicious evening, and includes Jan Ryberg at his guitar. We will be offering some outstanding wine pairings as well for our group of wine enthusiasts.

May the road rise to meet you….

Great week at Bizzi’s!  Friday & Saturday evening, we will be featuring favorites:  Cioppino (a classic seafood stew with fresh shrimp, swordfish, mussels, and more) and Fresh Mussels.  Delicioso (note my clever handling of Italian)!

Fourth Anniversary Dinner:  Saturday, June 6th, $60 per person.  Five courses, all hand-cut and hand-crafted…and live music.
Tuesday/Wednesday evenings: $7 red/white wine or featured martini.
Also, special shout out to Jerry, who didn’t think we’d be able to get his favorite scotch.
Well, we now carry Edradour 10, from the smallest distillery in Scotland.
Rock, roll, rinse, & repeat.

Cornbread Stuffed Pork Loin

It’s Mother’s Day Week, and I love my mother! She’s a pistol, but can’t imagine my life without her (very) firm guidance, unconditional mother-lioning, and protective care. Bottom line: she is simply the best. At Bizzi’s, Wednesday through Saturday night we will be serving up a meal worthy of all Moms out there (Dads, too, and also those who are children of Moms and Dads): Savory Cornbread Stuffed Pork Loin with Maple Butter Glaze, Sauteed Baby Bella Mushrooms, and Creamed Spinach.

Glass of Red or White Wine or our Featured Martini: Cucumber Gimlet — $7 Tuesday & Wednesday evening.

And if you haven’t, get a reservation for our Fourth Anniversary Dinner celebration to be held on Saturday, June 6th — the menu’s on-line

Happy Mother’s Day to you Moms out there!

From The Hive:

We will continue to feature Lamb Chops with Mint Jelly served with Garlic-Parmesan Mashers and Sauteed Asparagus this weekend (Friday & Saturday night). I will order and eat it again — probably Friday AND Saturday.

Live Music from Jan Ryberg this Wednesday evening — don’t miss his totally irresistible classical guitar melodies — you won’t be able to stop your toes from tapping. If you’re lucky, I won’t sing along to the music.

A glass of red or white wine – $7 on Tuesday & Wednesday evenings. And…we have Bucheron Cheese again — Killer.

Here Comes Peter Cottontail!

Nice wines by the glass as well, with specials on Tuesday & Wednesday evening.
